More about Scott

Scott Ellis joins the UVAC team after spending the past 16 years developing age group swimming and growing teams as a Head Coach.
Most recently he has spent the past three years in West Virginia, not only building a team to success, but has done it by building a team culture based on trust, respect and responsibility.
In addition has helped develop the sport by participating on the Board of Delegates as Age Group Chair, Operational Risk Chair and Coaches Representative.
In the past two years Scott has participated in USA swimming’s leadership Summit and Safe Sport conference to help develop the direction of swimming as a sport and to protect athletes in the process.  He also served as the Head Coach for the Southern Zones Age Group Championships.
Over the past 5 years he has worked to develop disability swimming and has spent time at the Olympic Training Center working with members of the United States Paralympic Team.
Scott was nominated for Coach of the Year at YMCA Nationals multiple times over the past 10 years.  He also received the Coach of Year honor once.
Scott got his start in the sport by participating in triathlons, and then walking on at University of Kentucky as a swimmer. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University and was also an assistant coach at University of Kentucky.
Scott comes to the area with his wife Ashley, and their three younger children.  They also have three grown children that all live in Ohio.  They spend their free time doing things as a family, enjoying the outdoors by hiking, rafting and exploring new areas.
