Private Lessons

Increase your confidence and grow your skills in the water

We offer private and semi-private 1/2 hour swim lessons for children and adults of all abilities. They are a great solution for individuals who have a fear of the water or just need extra attention to advance their swimming skills.

NOTE: Due to an overwhelming number of people still on the wait list, we will not be accepting any new requests until June. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Payment is required when you have been matched with an instructor, before the start of lessons.

Please allow 7-14 business days or time frame stated above. We cannot guarantee your schedule requests can be met or that a specific coach will be available.

If we are unable to schedule a coach, your payment will not be processed.

Pool emergencies can occur last minute. In the case of closures for any reason, the lesson will be rescheduled.

No more than two participants of similar ability will be in a shared half-hour lesson.

Cancellations made 24 hours in advance can be rescheduled. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will not be rescheduled and the lesson is forfeited.

The Membership rate is applicable for families or individuals with an active family membership for duration of lesson set.

Lesson packages expire three months after the date of the first lesson.

Where do I check-in for lessons?

Please check in at the Welcome Desk.
Let the Welcome Desk know if you are new to UVAC and they can direct you down the hall to our locker rooms!
All of our locker rooms also exit onto the deck of the Warm Water Pool where our lessons are conducted!

What should I bring for swim lessons?

Please bring:

Towels
Desired Toiletries
REQUIRED Swim Diaper
- Reusable swim diapers are allowed
- We also have disposable swim diapers available at the Welcome Desk for $3
- Please don’t take swim diapers off on the pool deck, but rather wait to be in the locker rooms or front hall bathroom, Thank you!

Can we stay and swim after our lesson?

Unfortunately, extended swimming is not yet available for weekend lessons

Can both parents participate in Parent & Me Lessons?

Space permitting both parents may participate in the class!

Anything else we should know about swim lessons at UVAC?

If you’ve never been here before, when you go back into the locker rooms after being in the warm water… it will feel chillier… but if you bring your towels on deck with you, that will help!
