More About Alex

Alex Muni comes to UVAC from Oxford, Ohio where he was the assistant coach for the Miami University Aquatic Club MAKOS for eight seasons. While coaching, Alex attended Miami University where he earned a bachelor of science in sport leadership and a master of science in sport leadership and sport psychology.

With the MAKOS, Alex coached swimmers with various levels of experience. By his fifth season, more than half of his training group had qualified for the Ohio Junior Olympic meet for the first time, multiple swimmers achieved top state rankings, and one went on to achieve the fourth fastest 50yd backstroke time (nationally) in her age group.

Alex’s swimming journey began when he was a sophomore in high school and continues to this day as he continues to train and compete in multiple masters meets throughout the year. He hopes to one day earn the title “U.S. Masters National Champion” (his highest finish thus far is 3rd).

Alex has also served on the Ohio Swimming age-group committee as the southwest commissioner. This role helped him better understand the inner workings of USA Swimming at the LSC level, discussing meet programs, qualification times, etc.

In addition to coaching swimming, Alex is a TRX certified instructor and was able to expand his coaching from the pool to the fitness arena by creating fitness programs specifically for swimmers.
