Kana (as she is affectionately called) is originally from Japan and learned how to swim when she was three years old. Since then, she has always enjoyed swimming. When she moved to Vermont in 2011, (her husband is a Vermonter) they were looking for a good swim program for their son and that’s how they found UVAC for the first time! Kana has three sons now and they all have enjoyed swim lessons at UVAC for many years.
Kana became a swim lesson teacher at UVAC in 2016. She loves to see students progress and support their goal in growing their swim skills. She is always happy to help each student with any need they may have in their swim lesson. Recently, she had a great experience teaching the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson and she hopes she can help more students learn how to swim!
When Kana is not working she loves cooking, exercising, going to see musicals and spending time with her family!
