Aquatic Exercise Instructors
Teach water fitness courses in a variety of possible formats to adults, seniors, and special populations. Instruct participants on effective workout methods, explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises, identify different muscle groups, teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles, assist participants, answer any questions and provide positive experience for class participants. Ensure that safety standards are met and that facility policies are adhered to. Strong communication skills, swimming back ground, one year or more of teaching water fitness preferred, any nationally-recognized certification, current First Aid/CPR certification. Group Exercise Instructors
Lead structured exercise classes, assist in the planning and implementation of group exercise programs, offer useful, tactful, and safe advise to individuals regarding their exercise program and/ or use of equipment. Enforce all facility and program policies, assist with the maintenance of exercise equipment. Strong communication skills, experience teaching aerobics to various groups, an understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise, a college degree relating to fitness preferred with a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, any nationally-recognized certification, current First Aid/CPR certification. Competitive wages and a FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP with 2 shifts per week and paid vacation with 35 hours+ per week. Graphic Designer
Design promotional material for print and web in a deadline driven environment. Print and post materials in-house, keeping things organized and up-to-date on bulletin boards. Manage large photo archive. Monitor print ads for accuracy and record keeping. Send info for calendar listings to Valley News. Post to social media as needed. Contribute as an important part of the marketing team with advisements, brainstorming and collegial relations. Work hours T/W/TH (total of 12 hours, flexible). Email [email protected] for more info.

KidZone Attendants
Greet members and children at the KidZone. Engage the children in reading, arts, crafts, playing games, and having safe fun with other children in the center. The individual in this position must be postive, confident, team player, customer service driven and comfortable with children of varying temperaments and personalities. CPR/AED/ First Aid is a plus. Weekends and evenings are a must. Competitive wages and a FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP with 2 shifts per week and paid vacation with 35 hours+ per week. Lifeguards
CPR, Lifeguard Training Certifications required. Mid-week and weekend shifts, 9am-9pm, three-hour shifts. FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP with two shifts/wk and paid vacation with 35 hours+ per week. Email astone@uvacswim.org for more info.

Maintenance / Housekeeping
Work with a great team 25-34 hours weekly. We’ll train you! FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP. Apply in person or online. No phone calls please. Bring Application into the center.

Marketing Intern
Learn databases, social media, email campaigns, print/web advertising, in-house promotion, surveys and special events. Invaluable hands-on work experience, and a one year membership in trade for a 300 hour unpaid internship. Send letter and resume to [email protected]

Personal Trainer
Responsibilities include:  Training a wide variety of clients including, but not limited to: fat loss, joint replacement, chronic pain, seniors, and sports training.  Must demonstrate knowledge of evidence based practices, human kinetics, human anatomy, and exercise physiology.  Must hold a certification from one of the following governing agencies:  ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA.  Preference given to those with a four year degree in Exercise Science or a related field.  Must be able to work evenings and weekends.  CPR/AED/First Aid required. Competitive wages and a FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP with 2 shifts per week and paid vacation with 35 hours+ per week. Swim Sports Writer
Be UVAC’s resident sports writer for the upcoming meet season. Write articles for the UVAC Swim Team for the papers, TV or radio and get a FREE membership. Send writing sample and a letter of interest to: [email protected] or 802-296-2850 ex.111.

Swim Lesson Instructors
Responsibilities include: Provide instruction in swimming techniques, skills, and water safety to participants, must be able to relate well with children and adults, must be able to exercise good judgment and safely supervise children, must have the sensory abilities (e.g. hearing, seeing) necessary to perform the duties of this position, assess participants swimming skills for appropriate level placement and for completing progress reports. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Competitive wages and a FREE UVAC MEMBERSHIP with 2 shifts per week and paid vacation with 35 hours+ per week. Contact [email protected] for more info.

Splash Camp Counselors
Responsibilities include: Must be able to relate well with children and adults, must be able to exercise good judgment and safely supervise children, must have the sensory abilities (e.g. hearing, seeing) necessary to perform the duties of this position, must be available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Volunteer in Children’s Programs
For Children’s programs like KidZone Childcare, AquaZone,Thursdays for kids 5-13 @ 4:3-7pm. Middle School Fun Night, one Friday a month @ 7-9pm. If you enjoy working with children and have a few extra hours a month you would like to donate, you will get a free membership along with potential employment opportunities. Welcome Desk Attendants (Opening & Weekend Shifts)
Responsibilities include: Greeting members and guest as they arrive. Available for guided tours, inquiries and concerns regarding events and programming offered at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center. Processing of program registration, facility reservations, membership card activations, and day passes. Must have good customer service skills and the ability to become fluent with the software relating to all functions of their position. CPR/AED/ First Aid is a plus. Mornings and Weekends are a MUST! Wellness Coach/Team Intern
Get a GREAT recommendation for your next job and learn valuable skills! The Wellness Department at Upper Valley Aquatic Center is taking part in local community events, engaging with community partners, offering new health screenings and nutrition packages. As we grow, a wellness coach/team intern is needed to assist with program development. This position is 2-5 hours a week unpaid with a FREE membership during the duration of the commitment.
