Killington Aquatic Club Merges with Upper Valley Aquatic Club

November 22, 2021–Killington, Vermont, Pico Fitness Center–As the Killington Aquatic Club (KAC) moves into its 12th swim season, the KAC Board only sees growth and a great future for the club and its swim teams. Founder, Board President and USA Swim Coach, Kristin Schiessl-Alf will be making some personal changes and did not want the club to end just because of her own endeavors. Kristin’s love for swimming and having the swim program grow in the area is very important to her. Along with the Killington Aquatic Club Board, the decision was made to dissolve the KAC non-profit and to join the Upper Valley Aquatic Club as a satellite team. The merge is a wonderful fit for both clubs, coaches, and swimmers. The Upper Valley Aquatic Club, located in White River Junction, VT is just a larger version of the Killington Aquatic Club at the Pico Fitness Center. The two clubs’ vision align and there are no significant changes administratively. The swimmers will only be wearing a different team swimsuit and team cap.

“It’s been an honor and a great achievement to continue swimming at the Pico/Killington area, in which the mountain is truly known as a winter ski resort. It is nice to have different winter activity options for youngsters and adults, and not only activities that involve snow. We are also blessed to have the continued support of the community and the surrounding towns that branch further than the Killington/Pico region, including Rutland, Pittsford, Chittenden, Pittsfield, and Stockbridge. Swimmers coming from these other towns travel quite a distance to practice at the Pico Fitness Center daily,” says Schiessl-Alf.

The Killington Aquatic Club Board and its membership are very happy to announce this very significant merger with Upper Valley Aquatic Club and hope that there are many great things to come as the two teams make the transition. With the new leadership of Head Coach Scott Ellis from UVAC and his administrative team, the Killington Aquatic Club now called UVAC WEST: Killington, will surely grow and have many new opportunities!

“We thank everyone for their support the past 12 years, and we hope that the same support continues for the UVAC WEST: Killington!” Schiessl-Alf says.
