Stronger Together: Celebrating Community and Movement at the PEP Open House

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting an inspiring Open House for our Parkinson's Exercise Program (PEP) with Upper Valley Programs for Parkinson’s here at UVAC. It was heartwarming to see so many individuals come together, united by a commitment to health, community, and support.

At UVAC, we offer specialized classes tailored for those with Parkinson's, including:

Pedaling for Parkinson’s™: Based on research indicating that consistent cycling can reduce symptoms, this class has shown participants experiencing up to a 35% improvement after biking three times a week for just eight weeks.

PWR! Moves: Designed to enhance balance, stability, flexibility, strength, and power, this class utilizes a variety of movements and tools, all customized to accommodate each participant's unique needs.

Rock Steady Boxing: A non-contact boxing program that effectively addresses many Parkinson's symptoms, focusing on stretching, strengthening, balance, executive functioning, and fine motor skills.

These programs are more than just exercise; they are a testament to the strength and resilience of our community. Participants not only engage in physical activity but also build connections that foster motivation and support.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended the Open House, and we look forward to continuing this journey together, supporting each other every step of the way.
