More about Suzanne

  • Favorite Exercise: Planks, pushups, pullups, walking lunges, deadlifts. I love my TRX and Rip trainer, too.
  • I like working with everyone; it’s so exciting to help people reach goals and enjoy fitness.
  • Strength training is the foundation of everything else; it improves daily functioning and specific sports performance. It is good for the mind and body.
  • I especially love: Climbing, hiking, trail running, cycling, skiing

Suzanne’s main passion and physical activity was dancing (tap, jazz, and ballet) until she moved to New Hampshire, where she took up long-distance running and hiking. During her first ten years as a high school teacher, she also worked as an adventure programmer: leading bike tours, climbing and hiking trips, building and maintaining ropes courses, and co-teaching an outdoor leadership class. During that time, a co-worker convinced her to get a membership at a local Gold’s Gym where she developed a love for strength training (and for waking up insanely early to squeeze it in). While Suzanne’s teaching positions have morphed over the years, her passion for fitness, strength training, and outdoor endurance sports have remained constant. When she’s not working or enjoying the welcoming community at UVAC, she’s outside on a trail, road, or cliff or building custom bike frames with her best friend, Charlie.
